This policy explains what cookies are, which ones our website uses, and how you can control them. It should be read alongside our privacy policy, which explains more broadly how we handle personal data.

1. What cookies are

A cookie is a small text file that a website asks your browser to store on your device. Cookies let a site remember things between pages and between visits - that you have made a choice about cookies, for example, or that you are partway through filling in a form.Some cookies last only until you close your browser. These are called session cookies. Others stay on your device until they expire or you delete them, and these are called persistent cookies. Cookies set by the site you are visiting are first-party cookies; those set by another organisation whose content appears on the page are third-party cookies.Similar technologies such as pixels, tags and local storage do much the same job. Where we refer to cookies in this policy, we mean those technologies too.

2. Your choice

We set cookies that are strictly necessary for the website to work as soon as you arrive. We cannot switch these off and they do not require your consent.Every other cookie - analytics, advertising, and anything set by embedded third-party content - is set only after you have given your consent through the banner that appears on your first visit. Nothing beyond the strictly necessary cookies is placed on your device before you make a choice.Refusing is as easy as accepting. If you decline, the site works normally; you will simply not be counted in our visitor statistics. You can change your mind at any time through the cookie settings link in the footer of every page, and we will ask you again periodically so that a decision you made long ago does not stand indefinitely.

3. The cookies we use

3.1 Strictly necessary cookies

These are required for the site to function and for basic security. They are set without consent, and we rely on our legitimate interests under Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR for any personal data they involve.

3.2 Analytics and performance cookies

These help us understand how the site is used — which pages people read, how they arrived, and how long they stay. They are set only with your consent, and we rely on your consent under Article 6(1)(a) of the GDPR.

3.3 Advertising and targeting cookies

We do not currently use advertising or targeting cookies. If that changes, we will update this policy and ask for your consent before any such cookie is set.

3.4 Embedded third-party content

Some pages may include content hosted elsewhere - an embedded video, a map, or a font library. Where that content is present, the provider may set its own cookies, over which we have no control and to which we have no access.We load embedded content only after you have consented to third-party cookies. If you decline, the content will not load, and you will see a placeholder in its place.List any embedded providers actually used - for example Vimeo, YouTube, Google Maps or Google Fonts - with a link to each one's cookie or privacy notice. If the site embeds nothing, say so and delete the rest of this section.

4. Managing cookies in your browser

Separately from our banner, you can control cookies through your browser settings: blocking all cookies, blocking third-party cookies only, or deleting cookies already stored. Each browser handles this differently, and the help pages for Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge all explain how.Blocking all cookies, including the strictly necessary ones, may stop parts of this or any other website from working properly.

5. The law we work under

Our use of cookies is governed by the European Communities (Electronic Communications Networks and Services) (Privacy and Electronic Communications) Regulations 2011 (S.I. No. 336 of 2011), which implement the ePrivacy Directive in Ireland, and by the General Data Protection Regulation where cookies involve personal data.In practice this means we must obtain your consent before storing any cookie that is not strictly necessary for a service you have requested, that consent must be freely given and specific, and that it must be as easy to withdraw as it was to give.

6. Changes and contact
